My Future Husband
Okay, I dont normally watch football. In fact I probably havent watched much of it since the '70s when the Raiders were on top. But, I couldnt help myself tonight. When you combine a hottie like Tom Brady (a San Mateo native by the way!) and a possible undefeated season...how could I resist! The Patriots pulled it out in the fourth quarter for a 38-35 victory and are now 16-0! Only one other team (the 1972 Dolphins) have ever accomplished this. Is Tom superman or what?!
The Countdown to 2008 Begins...
We only have 2 days until 2008 arrives. Tick...tick....tick.... Time to jot down all the things you want to acomplish in the new year and also a great time to look back on all your accomplishments of the past year. Im sure there are more than you realize!

Amber Alert Over
Okay, I have to apologize to my friends and family. Since my brothers birthday I have been missing a brand new bathing suit top. I was SURE that I left it some place that I visited (you all probably know who you are). I was also sure that none of them were putting any effort into finding my lost top! I could just picture them sitting on the couch snacking on something while they talked to me on the phone, "Um, yeah, Ive looked everywhere and I just cant find it!"
Well the other day I was pulling out some of my party decorations and, ugh hummm.., there in the garbage bag that has been sitting in the back of my closet since August, along with some fake Ivy was my top! What the heck????
So, I apologize to you all for thinking that you were secretly not finding my top on purpose!
Now, I just need to find out who put it in that bag??? ;)

Thanksgiving Traditions
I dont know why I keep doing this but I forgot to bring my camera home for Thanksgiving. Thanks go out to Steph for documenting all the precious moments and letting steal some of her pics! This year we solidified a new tradition at our house. Here is the story behind it...
Last year Steph and Karen decided to do a shot of tequila before Thanksgiving dinner. They pulled down the Tequila bottle from my parents liquor cabinet, got out the salt and limes, poured the shots, and chugged. One small problem...there was only water in the Tequila bottle. Hmmm? A still unsolved R. family mystery. How long has the bottle been that way? Since High School? Does tequila eventually turn into water? Who knows! So now we make sure there is a new bottle in the cabinet and everyone is getting in on the action (except the kiddos of course!).

Shakin', not Stirred
Well, as you probably know by now there was a little earthquake down here...just a 5.6...but by all of the media coverage you would think that the devastation was insurmountable! I think when all was said and done a jar of pickles had fallen off the shelves of one store somewhere. And Susie in SF reported "I was, like, sitting in restaurant, and like, everything just started shaking...." you get the picture. Was it that slow of a news day??
I just happened to be babysitting for some friends who have 4 young boys. Which got me thinking, how would I get four little boys together and out of the house if it were a really big earthquake, and when would I get them out if they were sleeping. As it was I just let them sleep through this one and hoped that it wasnt a warning earthquake before the REALLY big one. (Nice babysitter right?!) But since their parents were out at a party and NOT answering their phones I had to rely on my own advice!
Anyway, we always put it off but there is no time like the present to get your emergency plan together and figure out what YOU will do in the event of an emergency whether you are all at home or separated and unable to get in touch with each other by phone.

Yeah Baby!
Now I dont really care who wins this world series, although I do think it would be nice for the Rockies to win it. But the thing I do love about it is that I just won the pool at work for Game 1!
Thats right, 100 good reasons to watch the world series! So Id like to make a little shout out to the Sox and the Rocks for a job well done.

Birthday Bob
Bob celebrated a birthday this weekend. Happy Birthday Bob! Here he is with the boys. (Well, most of them: Bob 2, Don, Kurt, Bob, Rob, Wolf). Three generations. Thanks for giving us a reason to get together!
The entertainment for the evening was...wait for it....watching Wolfs chameleon eat crickets. Yep, that's right! Who says we dont know how to party? A fun time was had by all!

Dance like nobody's watching
I had to steal this from my sis-in-laws blog. My niece is such a character and she really loves to dance! Do you remember when you last felt this free and uninhibited??
Check her out!
Aloha!
I had a great time visiting my friends Betsy, Rowan, Victoria and Gabriel on the Big Island of Hawaii. We had a great time but, boy, they have a busy life. Im exhausted! They just started up a plant nursery selling native Hawaiian plants and between soccer, swim practice, working at the nursery, school carpool, birthday parties, etc......I dont know how all of you people with kids do it! Check out my flicker photos for more photos! Vic and I took a side trip to Volcano National Park. Along the way we stopped to see this beautiful waterfall. It was raining alot that day and we didnt bring an umbrella (hey its Hawaii...who needs an umbrella right?) So we got a little drenched.
We wanted to see to red hot lava but unfortunately there was none flowing where people could see it (unless you had a helicopter, which we didnt). But, we did walk across the volcano crater and it does look like the surface of the moon! The crater behind me was completely filled with lave at on point (back in the 50's I think).
We also visited this black sand beach where there were sea turtles warming themselves on the sand at Punalu'u. Can you say "Hello screensaver"?!My friend Cloyce, by coincidence, just happens to live in the same tiny town as Vic and Betsy. Its a little freaky that they both ended up in the same place and they didnt even know each other! Here he is at the end of the road at Pololu Valley. Its about 2 miles from their town Hawi (pronounced 'Hahvee').
Here is a little Hawaiian graffitti. They have the right idea. They just use rocks to write their messages along the lava fields that line the highway. And all the messages are positive.
Whose ready to go back with me??? :)

Donuts and Mouse-icles
The weekend started out Friday night at Krispy Kreme where the kid swap was planned. I traded Rob & Steph a box of KK for 2 kids! Just kidding. They actually gave them to me for free! ;) What goes great with those delicious donuts?? Got Milk? Hey, when you dont have a cup sometimes you just have to drink out of the carton (or public container in this case!).
" Tina, come and get some dinner!!" That is Wolf checking out a llama in Pacifica.
Tiger Woods and Michelle Wi planning their shots on the golf course. They also played a little Bocce ball. Wolf was dominating the Golf game and Lexi whipped us in Bocce ball!
Who's on the phone?? "I said 'no comment'!" :)I traded the kids back Sunday at the Vivarium. Below is a sign for the yummy mouse-icles available there! Yum, Yum!

Robbie's Party Goes to the Birds
Robbie turned 8 -- happy birthday Robbie! For his party entertainment Beth and Greg hired performing birds. They were very entertaining--they talked, sang, rode skateboards and more. This picture looks like Robbie isnt enjoying himself but I think I just caught him with that expression. He loved the birds! You can check the birds out at http://www.happybirds.com/.
I forgot my camera so these are cell phone pics. Doh!

Happy Birthday Ruben Kincaid!
Steph threw Robin a great Bday bash last Saturday. It was a really nice party and he was surprised. Here are a few pics that I took but if you want the really good ones go to Stephs Flicker account. She and Al took some much nicer ones. After the big "surprise" is screamed Rob showed us how it all went down on the golf course earlier that day.
Not quite sure what Steph is doing here. Looks like she is beckoning her subjects!
Another part of the crowd waiting for Rob to arrive.
